Good morning everyone,
Well the weather is no more settled this week than last week. I don’t think it is going to change any time soon. We do hope it is OK at your place.
Our Feral Kitties
We got our sweet little grey kitty spayed last week, and our neighbour has claimed it. We do hope it has a great life.
Our two remaining kitties keep amazing us with the incredible love they exude. They love being here, and we love having them.
As the cold sets in most nights we now have a fire – and the cats are very happy!

On the farm
I almost don’t know where to start! There is so much going on on the farm. I might wait until next week to upload some photos of the new fencing. Hopefully. at that point the finished product might be more obvious, and worth the wait.
Part of the new fencing is digging out all our old barberry hedges. We have waited so long to do this, that it is quite emotional.

The contractor has a big (huge) digger and the driver has already removed almost ALL of the barberry hedges on our farm. The rest will be done in the next couple of days. The digger has dug a few huge holes, and stacked all the barberry in and above the holes. The stacks will be burnt completely, and then the holes will be filled in. We will replace these with rail and batten fencing in the laneways, and the internal fences with round posts, 9 wires and battens. We can’t wait.
I thought I should post one image, which shows just one of many fire stacks, and you can see high high it is. They are certainly impressive

I have been out on my farm ATV towing harrows over the ground trying to smooth over the areas where the hedges have been removed. New fencing will start today.
Solar Array: As if all the above was not enough, we are installing a significant solar array, with a large battery. I will post some photo’s next week, as it is being installed. We are not putting the panels on our roof – but rather inside one of our paddocks close to the house, The array won’t be seen, and, hopefully, we will have very little power to pay (and we might even get paid by the power company for excess power).
This week we contracted an “underground thrusting” company to put cabling pipe about a meter deep under our old tennis court, and right up to the edge of our house. They did a great job. The orange pipe is what the solar guys will use. We include a couple of photos. There is no trenches – its all done with no mess.

Spotlight on:
Today we would like to spotlight the coolest dude – who was born 40 odd days ago.
This little dude is called Kenny – and is the son of of our foundation registered Angus cow – Keryn (named after our Keryn).

Keryn has outstanding genetics, and the bull used was our magnificent guy, Tristan. Whilst we will steer little Kenny, we know he will be a champ! He has the most friendly demeanour and is very inquisitive. He now comes up very close – almost enough for us to touch him and give him a rub. That will happen soon.
With my sons, the name Kenny is synonymous with Kenny from South Park . They love the name!
That’s all for this week. We hope you all have a great week!
Al always we love feedback. If you want to comment, we would love to hear from you..
Cheers
Colin and Keryn
